2024 Heckerling Update (Free Zoom CLE)

Live Zoom CLE on February 21, 2024, by Mark R. Brown of Comiter, Singer, Baseman & Braun LLP. This presentation covers the highlights from the 58th Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning held on January 8-12, in Orlando. There will be important estate planning and tax updates that affect your practice, including discussions of new cases, rules and regulations, and IRS rulings.

Course number 8206 is approved for 1 CLE and 1 certification credit each in Tax Law and Wills, Trusts, & Estates. Tax Section members register free of charge. Non-section members register for only $75, which includes section membership.

Mark R. Brown, a partner with Comiter Singer Baseman & Braun, LLP, is board certified in both Tax Law and Wills, Trusts & Estates, and is a licensed CPA in Florida. He concentrates in the areas of wills and trusts, domicile planning, probate administration, and sophisticated estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax, and income planning. Mark, who has practiced in Palm Beach County for over twenty-five years, earned his B.S. degree, summa cum laude, in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and his J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law.  Mark is the Immediate Past-Chair of the Tax Section.  He also is a Director of the Palm Beach Estate Planning Council, Vice-Chair of Programming and Past-Chair of its Annual Estate Planning Supplement. 

Christopher C. Weeg, an associate with with Comiter Singer Baseman & Braun, LLP, is a Florida Bar board-certified tax lawyer and CPA with a focus on tax and estate planning. His law practice includes drafting wills and trusts; advising on income, gift, estate, and GST tax issues; forming business and nonprofit entities; and probating estates. Chris is experienced in the preparation of gift and estate tax returns, representation of executors in all phases of estate administration, and creating comprehensive estate plans tailored to meet clients’ personal objectives in a tax-efficient manner. As a triple Gator, Chris graduated from the University of Florida with an accounting degree, a J.D., and an LL.M. in taxation.
